More Ways to Give

IRA Distributions

You can support SilverSource by making a charitable gift from your IRA. While regular IRA withdrawals are taxable and may count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), donors who qualify may prefer to give through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

QCDs

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a tax‑smart way for individuals age 70½ or older to give directly from their IRA to SilverSource. A QCD may reduce taxable income, may count toward your RMD, and provides immediate support for older adults in our community.

Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) offer a flexible and tax-efficient way to support SilverSource. Recommend a grant from your DAF to SilverSource. Choose one-time or recurring support to provide seniors with housing, healthcare, and essential services.

Gifts of Stock

Donating appreciated securities can be a tax‑efficient way to support SilverSource. When you give stock held for more than one year, you may avoid capital gains tax and claim an income‑tax deduction for the fair‑market value of the shares on the transfer date.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a meaningful way to support SilverSource in the future without affecting your current finances. By including SilverSource in your will, trust, or beneficiary designations, you help older adults in our community stay safe, stable, and connected for years to come. Legacy gifts are flexible, can be changed at any time, and may offer tax benefits for your estate.

Gifts In Kind

Gifts in kind help SilverSource support the everyday needs of older adults by providing comfort, dignity, and essential daily care. We distribute personal care items through quarterly deliveries that help seniors maintain their health, independence, and well‑being. Please e-mail us for a list of current needs and guidelines.

Why Your Gift Matters

Seniors in Fairfield County are living longer but facing greater challenges.

Your tax-deductible gift fuels the SilverSource Promise, expanding programs to meet growing needs.

Every dollar strengthens the safety net for our senior neighbors.

Together, we ensure dignity, stability, and connection for older adults in our community.
