Housing Stability
SilverSource helps seniors stay safely housed by providing targeted financial assistance, intensive case management, and hands-on support. Our social workers work directly with seniors facing eviction, rent increases, unsafe living conditions, or complex housing applications. By stabilizing housing, we prevent homelessness, strengthen economic security, and reduce pressure on the local shelter system. Each senior we help remain housed saves Stamford taxpayers $40,000 per year.

Core Services
We help seniors find affordable housing options and assist with applications. Our goals are to for seniors to avoid homelessness and achieve economic stability.
With 16% of Fairfield County residents over age 60 living in poverty, many seniors are just one unexpected rent increase away from a crisis. We assist with rent and mortgage payments to prevent evictions, or cover moving expenses and security deposits to help seniors transition to more affordable housing options.
We help seniors access essential supports like medical devices and alert systems and help with utility payments, air conditioners, personal alert systems, and other supports that allow seniors to age in place safely. We provide seniors living with disabilities with accessibility modifications like ramps and handrails.
