Our History
SilverSource, Inc. was founded in 1908 as the Stamford Home for the Aged. The residential home was sold in the early 1970s and over time the organization evolved into an independent, nonprofit agency to continue the mission and facilitate the delivery of assistance to older residents in need – providing financial support, counseling, case management and other services to meet the urgent needs of struggling seniors.
The agency was founded with the express purpose of serving low-income older adults in Stamford. As a leading resource for the aging population, we have been serving this demographic for more than a century. Our highly-qualified, professional staff have broad and deep experience with low-income older adults in this community.
